VoiceMail is a voice-controlled email client for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what is shared with third parties.
VoiceMail does not operate its own servers and does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to us. All data processing happens on your device or through the third-party services described below.
VoiceMail connects directly to your email provider (e.g., iCloud) using credentials you supply. Your email username and password are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are only sent to your email provider's IMAP and SMTP servers. We never receive or store your email credentials.
VoiceMail uses your device microphone to capture voice commands. Audio is transcribed on-device using Apple Speech Recognition. The transcribed text (not the audio) is sent to OpenAI's API to interpret your intent. Audio recordings are not stored.
To understand your voice commands, generate email summaries, and compose replies, VoiceMail sends the following to OpenAI's API:
This data is sent over encrypted connections. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their API data usage policy, which states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.
If you grant permission, VoiceMail reads your Contacts to look up email addresses when you compose a message by name. Contact data is used on-device only and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
VoiceMail stores the following on your device:
This data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
In-app subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or have access to your payment information.
VoiceMail does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking technologies. We do not track you across apps or websites.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. The only third-party data transmission is to OpenAI as described above, which is necessary for the app to function.
Because we do not store your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete. To remove all local data, simply delete the app from your device.
VoiceMail is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
